GXMMS series Fiber Optic Rotary Joint

GXMMS series Fiber Optic Rotary Joint

The GXMMS is a fiber optic rotary joint (FORJ) for transmitting optical signals across a rotating interface without contact wear. This series is multi-channel with extended channel count, supporting single-mode and multi-mode transmission depending on the configuration.

Typical applications: radar and antenna turntables, high-definition video on rotating platforms, fiber sensing systems and medical or industrial imaging equipment where copper slip rings would introduce noise or bandwidth limits.

Selection notes: channel count, fiber type and connector style are specified per project. Electrical channels can be combined in the same unit when a machine needs both optical data and power across the same joint. Multi-channel models in this family are rated for up to 100 million revolutions.

GUREN assembles and tests fiber optic rotary joints in-house, including insertion loss checks before delivery.

Custom circuit counts, lead lengths, connector types and mounting flanges are quoted on request, and in-house machining keeps lead times short for both standard and modified units.

Frequently asked questions — GXMMS

What type of fiber does the GXMMS use?

Single-mode and multi-mode options are available; confirm at order..

What are the optical loss figures?

Insertion loss 4 dB, fluctuation 2 dB.

Can it be combined with an electrical slip ring?

Yes. Fiber optic rotary joints are often supplied as a separate unit or integrated with an electrical slip ring on the same shaft.

Which connector type is standard?

FC/PC or ST as listed. Other connector types are quoted on request.
