50 mm Bore Slip Rings (2 inch Through-Bore Series)
A hollow-shaft slip ring with a 50 mm (2 inch) centre bore — the large-bore class, built for heavy shafts and for routing hoses or multi-cable bundles straight through the centre of rotation.

Typical applications
- Wind turbine yaw and pitch — power, control and safety signals across the rotating joint
- Heavy rotating platforms — large-diameter turntables with a central structural shaft
- Hose and cable reels — electrical transfer while fluid lines pass through the axis
- Mining and material handling — sealed units for dust-heavy environments
- Large test rigs — instrumentation on a big rotating fixture
When a 50 mm bore is the right call
This is the large-bore class. Two situations push you here:
- The shaft itself is big — 40 mm and above leaves almost no wall thickness for a 38 mm bore unit; the 50 mm class gives proper clearance and bearing support.
- Fluid lines travel through the axis — a hose bundle plus electrical leads needs real room. Passing both through one hollow shaft simplifies the machine and removes a separate rotary union.
Frequently asked questions
Can this handle both power and a hydraulic hose through the centre?
Yes, provided the hose and its bend radius fit within the 50 mm bore alongside the electrical leads. If the fluid path needs a sealed rotating connection rather than a free hose, a combined slip ring and rotary union is the better design — describe both flows and we will advise.
How many rings can I load at 20 A continuously?
The per-ring rating is 20 A, but sustained total current is limited by heat. Send the loaded-ring count and duty cycle; we confirm the thermal design before quoting.
Is IP68 available on this size?
Yes, IP65 and IP68 are both available as sealed variants. For offshore or washdown service, tell us the environment so the sealing and surface treatment match.
Can the mounting flange be customised?
Yes — flange dimensions, bolt pattern, lead exit direction and lead length are all quoted per drawing.
