A1M Mercury Slip Ring

A1M Mercury Slip Ring

The A1M is a mercury slip ring from the A / W series. Contact is made through liquid metal rather than brushes, which gives a very low and stable contact resistance with no brush wear and no carbon dust. This model is rated 10 A at 400 V, up to 1800 rpm, single channel.

Typical applications: high-current rotating joints such as heating rollers, rotary welding equipment, electroplating lines and large test stands, plus low-level signal applications where contact noise must be minimised.

Selection notes: mercury units are single-channel by design, so multi-channel circuits require several units or a brush-type slip ring. The series covers 25 A to 450 A at 400 V, with speed ratings from 400 to 1,800 rpm depending on model. Units must not be used where mercury contact is prohibited by the end application.

GUREN assembles and tests these units in-house; each is checked for insulation resistance and continuity before shipment.

Custom circuit counts, lead lengths, connector types and mounting flanges are quoted on request, and in-house machining keeps lead times short for both standard and modified units.

Frequently asked questions — A1M

How does the A1M work?

It uses a liquid-metal contact instead of brushes, so there is no brush wear or carbon dust, and contact resistance stays stable over the rotation.

What current can it carry?

Working current 10 A, peak 20 A.

What speed and temperature range is it rated for?

Up to 1800 rpm, -30~60C.

Are there installation restrictions?

Yes. no acid/alkali/salt corrosive liquid contact
